Mark (Number One) & Sally (Flower Design) had done all the organising and planning for this wonderful event and Jason and I are really grateful to them both, it was a seriously successful evening. We raised some money for charities that are very close to our hearts and Jason's mum will decide on the distribution, so many thanks for your generosity and kindness it really is very much appreciated.

The Number One canapes were beautiful as always, Mark is so creative and our ladies are already getting excited about the next Supper Club's canapes! No pressure there then Mark!

Janet, Claire, Fran and all the team at Numer One were great, we were looked after perfectly!
The Piper was fantastic.
The food was sumptuous, we had champagne and the canapes, then Finnan Haddock Kedgiree/risotto of Mark's invention, then Cock a Leekie soup, the Haggis, Neeps & Tatties in a lovely light tart with a wee dram, Scotch Beef or Salmon with all the trimmings and to finish Cranachan or Tipsy laird, it was served and presented beautifully and I demonstrated flower arrangements in between each course which paced the evening nicely.

The flowers were just lovely, the Anemones in this one were exquisite. When a man and woman decide to spend the rest of their lives together, it is a magical moment. For many, that moment is followed by months and months of extensive planning. All that planning can be a long and stressful process but it does not have to be. As a wedding floral designer, I have met with hundreds of brides and have dealt with every kind of expectation, insecurity, opinion, space limitation, budget restraint, and family member.
My best advice is to have fun. Some of my favorite brides had a great time planning their wedding. They remembered why they were working so hard and they had a great time doing it. Some brides were so much fun to work with we became close friends over the course of the planning. Also, be open to new ideas and trust your vendors. We are here to elaborate on your ideas and offer creative ideas based on our expertise. Please take advantage of our years of experience – after all, that is why you are paying us. Here are some tips that will help make the planning process more enjoyable for you and everyone involved in the planning process:
Keep Things in Perspective - It’s your wedding day – not a major film production.
Remain Calm – Budgets may need adjusting, some flowers may not be in as expected, the exact linen color you wanted does not exist in your price range, or mother nature may not cooperate with the weather. Trust the professionals you hired to create a magical day - they will make adjustments as problems arise. They want your wedding to be as beautiful as you do – that is probably why you hired them.
Know What You Want – Make decisions and stick to them. Making major changes at the last moment may increase costs and could cause undo stress.
Remember It’s One Night – It will be a beautiful and memorable event, but don’t let it rule your life.
Smile – You are in love and have found the man of your dreams! It’s your wedding day - now let your team of experts do their jobs.
Hopefully, these tips will prepare you to take on the next steps in planning. It is important to hire experienced, reputable vendors who will listen to your ideas and expand on them. Delegate where possible and concentrate on the areas most important to you – such as gown, décor, seating arrangements, and honeymoon plans. Hire a great team, make timely decisions, make necessary adjustments, smile, and have a great time!

To be held on 2nd & 3rd April 2009 I can’t think of anything more lovely than a “Flower Design Afternoon Tea” at one of my favourite places “Lytham Hall”, this will be an extremely elegant affair in the wonderful surroundings of The Gold Room.
Rowley’s Catering will be providing us with a delicious afternoon tea, Finger sandwiches, elegant savouries, dainty cakes and home made scones, with home made jam & clotted cream, pots of tea are of course included but Champagne will be available to buy for those of us with a more frivolous nature.
I will be providing my own brand of “Floral Entertainment”, and will be using a sumptuous selection of early summer blooms, all of the designs will be raffled and the proceeds given to The Hospice.
The Ticket price is £20.00 per person inclusive of Afternoon Tea and Floral Extravaganza.
Dress Code: Elegant.
