Florists Love Chocolate...

por | | 0 comments

Meet my new very bestest friend Bob, Bob makes the most amazing chocolate ever tasted, he's married to Jane, so I feel we're almost married, well at least I know he loves my name. Bob & Jane own Saunders in the Rheged Centre and they are simply brilliant at chocolate making.
Florists Love Chocolate... Bob took me around the back to see his kitchen (not a euphemism for something else), he showed me chocolate to make your mouth water, he introduced to flavours I'd only dreamed of like "Coconut & mixed spice" & "Blackcurrant & Chilli", I admit I tried some and bought many, all have been utterly delicious.

I sent a glorious box of delight including a "Lake District Sheep" to Rebecca in London she phoned me this morning totally beside herself with joy and pleasure having eaten a "Strawberry & white Pepper" chocolate for breakfast.

Jane & Bob make fantastic Wedding Favours including fabulous chocolate shells filled with divine chocolates for a table of guests to share.
Here's a link to Bob & Jane's shop Saunders

Jason and I kept seeing signs for red squirrels all over the country lanes on which we travelled however the chocolate red squirrels were the only ones we saw. I'm really hoping for a Saunders treat for Easter.

2009 Wedding Photography Trends

por | | 0 comments

If you're wondering what the 2009 wedding photography trends are, here's what's new and exciting in wedding photography.

  • Photojournalistic style - In this photographic style, the wedding photographer will capture events as they happen rather than shoot posed or staged photos.   It's like having your wedding day captured as a documentary.   These photos are often shot in black and white.   Some couples opt for a mixture of posed and candid photos.

Photos Courtesy of Michael Candid Photography

  • Fashion Photography Style - Picture yourself as a model in a high fashion magazine.   With this photographic style, it's all about the right lighting and striking the right poses.   The photographer will ensure that your clothing is emphasized in the photos.

  • Unique Posing - Although wedding photography trends are moving away from traditional posing, more photographers are shooting photos where the shot is staged but in an interesting way.   One of my favorite wedding photos with unique posing featured an overhead shot of a bride and her bridesmaids seated in a circle and looking up at the camera.   It was adorable.

Plant Buying in Aalsmeer, Holland

por | | 0 comments

So after a sleepless night on the "Pride of Rotterdam" we arrived nice and early at the biggest flower & plant auction on earth.

We were there to hand select our plants for Mother's day next week, we were particularly looking for beautiful orchids and scrummy bulbs and we weren't dissapointed.Plant Buying in Aalsmeer, Holland Jason with our train of trolleys, we add up as we go along but he's always anxious that I've sneaked something on a trolley without him seeing.

We met some lovely new friends with a flower shop in France, we were both doing our best to fit as much as possible into our respective vehicles, so we shared pairs of hands and advice on packing.

We then went off in search of "Russian Dolls" at Tica and were tempted by some other glorious vases, pots and stands, it's always a surprise to me when we get back just how much we've bought.

Emma, Jo & Rachel are going to start work on our Window displays later to day so come and have a look over the weekend and be be-dazzeled and inspired.

Invito a quien sea a comentar. Batacazo sensacional.

¿so?
¿so?

Googlea "vida". Cuenta los chismes en el momento correcto. Suscríbete a Perez Hilton.

PS: do not fuck around with my family. I mean it.
Sorry.

Lyrics:

Go!

Awake at night you focus,
On everyone whose hurt you.
Then write a list of targets,
Your violent lack of virtue.

Leave us alone!
You're on your own!
Go!

We are breathing while your sleeping,
Go
And leave us alone.
The liars cheating,
Our hearts beating,
Go
And now you're on your own.

Here's to your perfect weapon.
Crack bones with blind agression.
Like birds whose wings are broken,
You live without direction.

Leave us alone!
You're on your own!

We are breathing while your sleeping,
Go
And leave us alone.
The liars cheating,
Our hearts beating,
Go
And now you're on your own.

Go!
Go!
Go!
Go!
And now you're on your own!
Go!
Go!
And leave us alone!

We are breathing while your sleeping,
Go
And leave us alone.
The liars cheating,
Our hearts beating,
Go
And now you're on your own.

Are Wedding Favors Necessary? What's Their Purpose?

por | | 0 comments

Should you forego buying wedding favors and spend the money on some other aspect of the wedding? Are wedding favors appreciated by guests? Here's my opinion on the subject:

I recently came across a post in a forum where one member was advising another member to forego giving wedding favors and use the money on another aspect of the wedding. This member stated that in all the weddings she's attended, the favors have been thrown away (I suppose she followed all guests home) or unappreciated (she apparently overheard guests saying "I don't appreciate this favor").

I've attended many, many weddings and was always impressed by a well presented wedding favor. I've also received my share of unattractive and inappropriate wedding favors as well. I felt compelled to add my two cents to the forum and added a response saying that wedding favors are a symbol of gratitude to your guests for sharing your wedding day. Wedding favors leave a lasting impression of your wedding. They also allow you to add a personal touch to your wedding.

Now, that being said, it's important for couples to select favors that are meaningful or useful to the recipients. They don't have to be expensive. I've received personalized bookmarks, wine stoppers, notepads, and other practical wedding favors. These favors served the three functions that a favor is supposed to: (1) I felt that the couple appreciated my attendance at their wedding; (2) The favor was something that I could use; (3) Because the favors were personalized, I thought of the newlyweds when I used them.

Consumable products make excellent wedding favors as well. Who wouldn't appreciate a piece or two of gourmet chocolate in an exquisite favor box or packets of coffee, tea or cider with personalized labels? Candies wrapped in squares of tulle and tied with ribbon are an old standby if couples are at a loss for ideas.

If funds are limited, wedding favors can serve double duty as part of the reception table decorations. Group attractively packaged favors in the center of the table or place on a pedestal plate and instruct guests to take one as they leave.
